Living Righteous in Lawless Times

During the time Lot and his family spent living in Sodom and Gomorrha, the Bible tells us he was utterly worn down by the manner of life of the lawless citizens he lived amongst (2 Peter 2:7). As a child of God, Lot’s soul was constantly vexed by the depravity and unrighteousness surrounding him. Our lives today as believers in Christ and citizens of Heaven, living in a society that has decayed almost to the point of abject lawlessness, are very similar to Lot whilst living in Sodom. We need to learn to keep a sweet heart in the midst of the lawlessness and learn to protect ourselves and our families from the influence and humanism that pervades our society, many times, even church culture.
