The Shalom of God

The Jewish greeting ‘Shalom’ literally means, “May you be full of health and wellbeing”. Without God, we will have no genuine peace. In John chapter 14, Jesus said, “My peace [shalom] I give to you”. As believers, we receive the very peace of God when the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our hearts. If we lack peace in our lives, both with others and within ourselves, it is not because God did not already give us His peace, but rather, because we have allowed things into our hearts and minds to steal our peace.

How can we be an ambassador of Jesus to those around us, if we are sour and angry, or stressed and heavy? The ‘shalom’ of God – peace with Him, others and within ourselves – is the vehicle through which we will experience rest, wellbeing, healing and a lifestyle characterised by fruitfulness, wisdom and godliness. If you long for genuine peace and wellbeing, we encourage you to join us for this message.
